Honorio Banario vs Shinya Aoki: Will the Team Lakay fighter avenge Eduard Folayang at ‘ONE: Century’ in Japan?

Former ONE Featherweight World Champion Honorio “The Rock” Banario, 29, of Team Lakay will fight former ONE Lightweight World Champion Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki, 36, of Japan at “ONE: Century.” They battle it out in an MMA bout in the lightweight division.
ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Century” at the Ryogoku Kokugikan, Tokyo, Japan on October 13, 2019. It will have two fight cards with 11 bouts each.
The second part of “ONE: Century” will be headlined by reigning ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera, 41, of the Philippines and ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Champion Aung La N Sang, 34, of Myanmar. The seventh bout is the match between Banario and Aoki.
Both Banario and Aoki are coming out of a loss. The Team Lakay fighter is riding a two-bout losing streak.
The last time Banario won was at “ONE” Conquest of Champions” on November 23, 2018 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. He defeated Rahul “The Kerala Krusher” Raju, 27, of India via unanimous decision.
On the other hand, Aoki redeemed the ONE Lightweight World Championship belt on March 31, 2019. He dethroned then champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, 34, who is also training out of Team Lakay, in their rematch at “ONE: A New Era” at the Ryogoku Kokugikan.
However, Aoki lost the belt to his Evolve MMA teammate Christian “The Warrior” Lee, 21, of Singapore at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on May 17, 2019. It downgraded the professional MMA record of the Japanese fighter to 43 wins, 9 losses, 0 draw and 1 No Contest.
Currently, Banario has 14 wins and 9 losses. Beating Aoki at “ONE: Century” will not only bring the Team Lakay fighter back to the win column but will also avenge Folayang.
Banario has been competing professionally since 2010. He joined ONE Championship in 2012.
